ELEVATE YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL: DARE TO RISE

Leap higher. Create bigger. Grow together. Dare to Rise.

MISSION:

The Elevate Youth Dance Festival is an educational and non-competitive dance event for dancers ages 9-18. Dancers grow as artists by participating in master classes, perform in adjudicated performance, share dancing experiences, and celebrate excellence in dance.

BRAND:

Educational: Dare to Grow

The Festival is primarily an education-focused event. Dancers will have the opportunity to explore more in dance. More styles of dance, more careers, more ways to create. They will connect directly with dance professionals, and grow as dance artists in the following ways:

  • Participation in master classes. A variety of classes will be offered including, classes in a range of technique styles, composition workshops, and health and wellness seminars.
  • Performance in adjudication. Dancers performing in the adjudication will receive constructive feedback on their technique, artistry, and performance.
  • Witness professional dance performance in the evening gala concert.

Creativity: Dare to Create

The Elevate Youth Dance Festival is unique in its encouragement of creative exploration in addition to technical growth in dance students. The Festival is committed to offering workshops in choreography and improvisation annually, and students are invited to submit their own choreography for adjudication. They will receive invaluable feedback from dance professionals on their choreographic choices and artistic expression. We believe that every dancer has a unique creative voice and vision that is ready to express who they are through dance.

Individuality: Dare to Express

The Festival is truly a celebration of each individual’s passion, process, and presentation in the art of dance. Every dancer values different aspects of dance. Each dancer creates art in different ways, through choreography and through contribution in rehearsals. Every dancer expresses or presents his or her passion for dance differently in performance and creativity. Every dancer is different in shape, strengths, personality, and artistic vision; therefore, experiences and expression of dance movement and artistry are unique to each dancer.

Wholesome: Dare to Care

This festival is a non-competitive event. Dancers, studio directors, and instructors, will gather in the spirit of sharing and respect, in acknowledgment of the Festival mission. Appropriate choices in movement style, song selection, and costume attire for each age group are encouraged. Please see our rules & policies for more specific guidelines.

Excellence: Dare to Rise

A standard of excellence is the core of the Elevate Youth Dance Festival experience. The festival provides an environment where dancers are encouraged to reach above what they believe themselves to be capable of regarding their technique and creativity. This standard of excellence also extends beyond a demonstration of beautiful dancing, passion for learning and creating. Elevate Youth Dance Festival is an event where dancers practice excellence in behavior, conduct, and camaraderie. They will share their joy and passion for dance with respect and kindness towards others. It is our goal for every dancer to leave feeling empowered to leap higher, create bigger, grow together, and dare to rise.
